TEDxYouth@TWSDubai came into being not just because of the ‘ideas worth spreading’ but also because of the passion and undaunting spirit of a lot of people right from the Principal, Mr Kingston Gilbert, the Vice Principal, Ms Vijayakumari Sathayan to an incredible team of students and the fire and dedication of our teachers.

 

TEDx now has become like that spark which is lighting more and more fires in people through the school. Like they say, now there is a little bit of TEDx in each one of us. Our teacher organizing team comprises of 3 women, talk of women power and you see it in them. First, is someone who needs no introduction in our school, Ms Shyni Sudheer, our Digital Leader and someone who is so engrossed in technology that you can’t be near her and not get affected! She is the brain truly behind the scenes. The next lady is the least vocal but most efficient in her works, our finance manager, Ms Pravina Santosh. We never have to think of money, sponsors, expenses because she is there. So basically, she burns the midnight oil so that we all can sleep peacefully.

 

Finally, Ms Pratha. Full of life and spirit, Ms Pratha has literally given this event her heart and soul. An ebullient individual with the capability of turning vision into reality. Alive to every situation and driven with determination, nothing seems to be a challenge. Looking into every single detail right from the inception to the conclusion,  she is breathing TED, not a single detail misses her eyes! Her passion and energy is so contagious that its spreading like fire around the school. Besides looking into the administrative and organizing part,  she is also helping in training and pepping the students up. Truly one of the biggest support for all of us. Well, now starts the most difficult job of introducing our Youth Organisers! Well they are vibrant, vivacious and futuristic! So, there is Rahul Jose from the Sixth Form, his talent with editing is unparalleled. Whereas Tareque, from Year 10 is the ‘eye behind the lens’ always capturing every single frame for our memoir. Alston from Year 10 is ‘the eye behind the eye behind the lens’ eye. Shabria from Year 11 and Hadeel Mostafa from Year 9 are our main Administrator, watching and taking note of each detail, helping in planning. Lidia from Year 10 is the creative head ensuring all the posters, banners and website show a sync and are in place. Daniyal is the shadows with Alston, always lending a hand and ensuring the team progresses. Fatiha from Year 8 works with the Shabria and others to proof-read and manage the language input. Yohan from the 6th Form is the unparalled Technical advisor, lending his talents in audio and visual arts to help us accomplish our event smoothly along with Jason from the 6th Form who goes the extra mile assisting the team wherever they may need aid. And lastly, our 2 certified public speaking trainers from the 6th Form who looked at the scripts and the authenticity of teach of them, helping the trainers with the 9 speakers!
