TEDxYouth TWS

TEDx was quite simply a mesmerising and amazing session with highly talented speakers and life changing topics.

The first speaker was Ihsaan Faiz who spoke about the colour red and what it signifies, the next youth Aliyan Jafri spoke on how emojis are changing the landscape of the english language and how we are already are using them in our daily life to signify emotions.

The next speaker Tommas Asfaw spoke about masks, about how we wear them everyday concealing our true identities and trying to fit in societies with these so called “masks” Eventually we reached our first filler a song titled Hero performed by Seerat Bader who sung the song in a beautiful and mesmerising manner. After the first filler we had Indiana Rose take the stage speaking about questioning the word special and why we shouldn’t be troubled by people with disablilties,After Indiana we had Sasha Zaki speak on The bizarre definition of beautiful and why society should not completely conform to it.next up we had Riva Zaki who talked about being ourselves and not be someone else.

after these three speakers we had our next filler do the rubix cube in under 20 seconds the boy’s name was Shahzad Moin. Our next speaker was Justin Raphael who spoke on the new age binky and its negative impacts on society and health,Rawan Hesham then took the stage with her teaching us the art of saying no and how we should reject people.

Our last speaker Sana Ali spoke on being happy and shared her wisdom from the pope. The filler next were Performed by Shenali,Jason and Yohan.Sadly we reached the supposed end of the session where we announced three more speakers to speak “The Wildcards”.

The first Wildcard was Bryan Gonsalves who spoke the significance the colour Red had on Love, and the next speaker Abdullah Aziz spoke on social media disconnecting us rather than connecting us, eventually we reached our final speaker Razan Mutasim spoke on social conformity and how we should not conform to societies rules.

The performances were outstanding! The speakers were nervous indeed, but once they got on that platform they killed it! The diversity in the topics and ideas that the speakers think are ideas worth spreading like technology and social media to emojis and questioning the meaning of special and then to the real definition of beauty, to the mask we are all forced to wear by society and to learning how to say no and to view things negatively. These unique topics were all performed by the 12 speakers on the 21st of November, 2016. The first ever Tedx platform held in the Westminster School of Dubai. The 12 speakers are very honored to be the first ever speakers to bring such an amazing platform to the school. They all did such a great job and of course thanks to their trainers and all the speakers themselves for all the hard work and practice, it was all worth it!
