Journey to the finale
The beautiful pursuit of TWS to identify potential speakers
in students from years 8 to 13 unearthed on this eventful day.
A whopping number of a hundred and seventy students had
participated and they held their heads high. After all, it’s not
about winning, it’s the participation that matters. From these
hundred and seventy students, seventy one qualified to the
second round of audition.

8th October
Mr Edberg and Mr Peter, judged the second round of
auditions and brought down the numbers to just 23 in what
were long strenuous days listening to these amazing orators
vying with each other for the top notch 9 positions. Talk
about long days! The speakers were to fit every criteria each
judge had in mind and after 4 days, the twenty three finalists
were chosen.
8th October
The list was shorter, the stakes higher and the heartbeats
faster! With such emotions, started the last leg of the journey to
choosing the final speakers who will be the face of TEDx for
TWS and leave a legacy behind. In this most difficult task, Ms Deanna, an accomplished speaker herself and Ms Renny, Head of Secondary School, helped us and took on this task on themselves. A combination of excitement, pride and fear rolled off on 23 shoulders in thick waves as they mentally and physically prepared themselves. That’s how our final 9 strode into their first steps to unveiling their unique thoughts as faces that represented TedxYouthTWS
Invitations and posters of the coveted event went for
approval and a few suggestions were made. Soon, a perfectly co-ordinated plan was laid down and received ecstatic approval
